Star Cinema's comedy film "Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy" outgrossed "My Little Bossings" in the box office of the 39th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) on January 5, according to the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Francis Tolentino.
In an interview, Tolentino said that the victory of the Vice Ganda starrer is just for 1 day alone, and nothing to do with the overall rankings beginning December 25, 2013 to January 5, 2014.
"For that single day lang, 'yung kahapon lamang, 'yung 'Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy' for single day lang 'yung kahapon," he told ABS-CBN News.
He further stressed that the Vic Sotto, Kris Aquino, Bimby Yap, and Ryzza Mae Dizon starrer is still the overall leader at the box office. However, he didn't disclosed the current figures of the 8 competing films.
The MMDA Chairman also revealed that the festival has already grossed a whopping P934-M as of Day 12 - or just few inches away from the targeted P1-B revenue at the end of the MMFF.
Meanwhile, as of today, Star Cinema announced that Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy and Pagpag: Siyam Na Buhay have already earned P336.4-M and P198.3-M, respectively.
As for the Vic-Kris film, comedian Jose Manalo allegedly revealed on noontime show Eat Bulaga that My Little Bossings has raked an overall P350-M on Saturday.
The MMFF committee has yet to confirm the given figures.
